This scene depicts the moment that Altairen is betrayed by his God, Khal, and forcing him to abandon Khal. Khal created Altairen and gave Altairen his powers to help him do his bidding. Altairen found love and had a child and at a near death experience, Altairen became more dedicated to his family and less to his God. Khal didnt like this so he devised a plan to send Altairen on a mission to attack a caravan. The caravan was filled with dark elves, including his wife and child, but they were all disguised by magic. This leads to Altairen killing his wife and child and ultimately swearing Vengeance on Khal.
